Old lessons will be retired roughly 30 days after publication of the new lesson. We are leaving the old lessons in place for a short time for students whose NBCOT exam is imminent. Although there is no harm in continuing to work in an old lesson, we recommend that students begin working in the new lesson when it becomes available. When an old lesson is retired, it could affect the progress shown on your dashboard.
Each lesson’s corresponding practice questions are being reviewed and adjusted in coordination with the review of the lesson. Although most changes to the questions are minor and scoring is generally not affected by the updates, students might want to reset their progress in the practice question category and retake the questions for additional practice after the questions are updated.
We are revising every lesson, but we can’t revise them all simultaneously. We post anticipated publication dates for each lesson in the “Coming Soon” section on the test platform as they near completion.
The Standards of Practice lesson has been replaced by a new lesson called Practice Essentials. The content in the new lesson reflects updates to the source material, and we’ve removed content that may not be helpful to students, in line with NBCOT’s most recent practice analysis.
The Burns lesson has been replaced by a new Burn Rehabilitation lesson.
The Musculoskeletal Impairments lesson has been replaced by a new Musculoskeletal Conditions lesson. The old lesson will be retired on December 9, 2023.
The Cardiopulmonary Conditions lesson has been updated; the old version will be retired on December 15, 2023.
The revised Hand and Upper Extremity and Ethics lessons were updated 12/6/2023. All of the others will be posted as they're completed.
The OTR practice tests will be updated to reflect NBCOT's changes at the end of December.
